In thankful
remembrance
In 1785 the divinity called him to stand up against
injustice.
It changed his life completely.
On May 12, 1789 he held his speech in the British
Parliament,
in which he
described in detail the horrible conditions
in which
slaves travelled from Africa.
On March
25, 1807 the result of his continous campaign against slavery
was the
complete abolition of slave trade.
But he did
not give up and worked on against injustice.
In August 1833 one month after his death
all British slaves got their freedom.
He did succeed.
His birthday is
August 24, 1759.
